Mike is intelligent and handsome, a college professor with a bit more charisma than your average lecturer, a fact that makes him very popular with his students – particularly the females. It is hardly surprising then that his star student, Elen, becomes attracted to him. Neither is it a shock that Mike reciprocates these feelings towards her – a beautiful young woman who is also his intellectual counterpart. Their affair is intense, the chemistry between them almost tangible, and Mike leaves his wife immediately to be with Elen. Elen is discovering a new world of possibilities after graduating and wants to savour everything, while there is a sense of urgency about Mike who is excited about his new love and wants to settle down as soon as possible. This causes clashes between them as Elen feels stifled, this amongst other things leads to them breaking up, leaving Mike devastated and heartbroken.
